Bike frame bag is a great addition to other bike bag combinations. For example, you can combine a bike frame bag with a bicycle saddle bag if you only need a little bit of additional space. However, if you are carrying a large amount of gear and have filled up your bike pannier bag, bike handlebar bags, and bike rack-top bags, a bike frame bag will provide much needed space for those extra items you can't live without.
Bike frame bags are also a great option for bikepacking , and they can be paired with a bike backpack for additional gear carrying space for off-road riding.

On the smaller end, bike saddle bags such as the might only be able to carry a single tube, patch kit, CO2 air inflator, tire lever, and a small multi-tool. On the larger end, a bike saddle bag such as the Tool Saddle Bag, which comes in sizes small to extra-large, could accommodate the previous items, as well as an additional tube, a wallet, phone, and perhaps an energy bar or two. Bicycle saddle bags are convenient to use in combination with a variety of other bags.
Beyond carrying the bare necessities,Bicycle saddle bags are convenient to use in combination with a variety of other bags. They also provide a great option for cyclists who are looking to add a little cargo capacity on their bicycles without having to install a bike rack. For even more "rackless" capacity, the combination of a handlebar bag and saddle bag provides a good amount of easy-access space. You can also pair a bike saddle bag with a bicycle backpack or bike messenger bag if you prefer to keep your tools separated and organized in the small, toolbox-like bags that are bike saddle bags. Even when using panniers, a saddle bag is a handy place to keep your tools and flat kit separated from your other stuff. So whether you are commuting to work, out for a short ride, or on a long bike tour, be prepared for the unexpected flat tire or broken chain by carrying all the small tools you need to get rolling again in a bike saddle bag

a handlebar bag for bicycle touring
The truth is, you do not need a handlebar bag for bicycle touring. The use of a handlebar bag is a personal choice. But if you are like me and you value your camera and the photos you take with it… and you hate to stop every single time you need to look at your map, then using a handlebar bag makes life on the road a whole lot easier.
In regards to the size of handlebar bag you should use, bicycle handlebar bag with mini iPad holder that again is up to you. For me at least, any good handlebar bag that is to be used for long distance touring should be big enough to carry your camera (and any other items you wish to easily access while you are on the road) and it should have a map case of some kind built into the top of the bag so you can view your maps without having to stop your bike every time you need to look up directions.
For those who have traveled with a handlebar bag in the past, rear pannier bag for bike what do you think about my advice here? Do you have any other tips for Linda or those who might also be asking themselves if they really need a handlebar bag? Why do you like your handlebar bag? Or why do you hate it? Weigh in by leaving a comment below.
